Navneeth Sundar, a composer and pianist from Chennai, has recently
discovered that the touch screen provided by the Apple iPad can be used
to perform different kinds of music, including Carnatic music (South
Indian Classical Music). The app used in this performance is "Animoog"
created by "Moog Music Inc". This particular patch, created by Navneeth
himself on the app, is specific to a particular ragam or scale, which in
this case is the ragam Desh and its parameters can be tweaked to suit
other ragams, which makes it possible to explore the myriad dimensions
and expressions there are, in Classical Carnatic music.
